  • Welcome to the latest episode of Writing In Suburbia!

I have survived Dragon Con! I talk about that, but mainly I talk about the importance of prioritizing your life and knowing what you are willing to sacrifice and what you are not willing to sacrifice. I get slightly choked up. Slightly.

    Enjoy!

    Questers
    By
    Jake Bible

The wizard stared at the runes, eyes narrowed, sweat dripping from his brow.

“Can you decipher it, old man?” Vorgoron asked.

“Give me time, give me time,” the wizard said, scratching his stubbled chin.

“Should you cast a spell?” Malkorn asked, twirling an arrow between his fingers.

“Hush. I have this, elf,” the wizard replied.

They stood there for a moment then the grand stone door creaked open.

“I thought I heard someone out here,” the troll said. He looked at the weapons. “Huh. Questers. I thought you were the pixies selling cookies. Oh, well, lets get on with this.”

    Float Above
    By
    Jake Bible

Missy sat there, her chin cupped in her hands, her eyes locked onto the man on stage. She couldn’t turn away, couldn’t even stop staring to pick up her drink (twelve dollars!) and have a sip. All she could do was watch his fingers and how they flew across the guitar strings.

As the song ended, Missy sighed and eased back, relaxing into her plush chair. She watched the last of the musical notes float above her head. The man on stage said a few words of gratitude into the microphone, but Missy didn’t care. She wasn’t there for words.
