The gladiators faced each other.

“I don’t want to fight you,” one said.

“I don’t want to fight you, either,” the other replied.

“They’ll kill us if we don’t,” the first said.

“One of us has to die anyway,” the second replied.

“Well, I don’t want it to be me,” the first said.

“I don’t want it to be me,” the second responded.

The gladiators faced each other, neither of them making a move.

“Sooooo…where are we with this?” the first asked.

“Hell if I know,” the second shrugged. “We fight?”

“Do we?” the first asked.

The crowd waited.
