Friday Night Drabble Party!
It is Friday which means it is time to Party!
You ready for some Drabble goodness? Yes, you are!
Quick announcement first: Blood Cruise is available in audiobook! Huzzah!
Ben Clow’s plans are set. Drop off kids, pick up girlfriend, head to the marina, and hop on best friend’s cruiser for a weekend of fun at sea. But Ben’s happy plans are about to be changed by a tentacled horror that lurks beneath the waves. International crime lords! Deep cover black ops agents! A ravenous, bloodsucking monster! A storm of evil and danger conspire to turn Ben Clow’s vacation from a fun ocean getaway into a nightmare of a blood cruise!
Doesn’t that sound like ten kinds of awesome! The narrator totally rocks this production, by the way. You have got to check this one out.
Now, onto the micro-fiction!
The champion stood over her fallen opponent.
“Submit,” she said, her voice amplified by the external loudspeakers on her mech. “Submit and you keep your machine.”
“Bite me,” the opponent replied, his voice thick with pain as he lay helpless inside his crushed cockpit. “Do your worst, but I won’t submit.”
“You’re a fool,” the champion said.
“But I’m not a coward,” the opponent replied.
“Brave means nothing when you are dead,” the champion sighed as she raised a two-ton foot and brought it down squarely on the cockpit.
The crowd roared with gleeful bloodlust. The match was won.
